Twinkies: they could survive nuclear war, but not a union strike!
Hostess, the makers of Twinkies and other dessert type junk food, will be closing its doors for good. After the company filed for bankruptcy in January, the company’s workers in the Baker’s Union went on strike and rejected Hostess’s concession offer. The heads of the company report that they don’t have the financial resources to weather the strike. Over 18,500 jobs will be lost.
I guess the union thought no wages are better than low wages? Someone should remind them that the successful parasite only takes enough that they don’t kill their host–or should I say, Hostess.
